Helping Children in the Community

The Port-de-Paix sewing graduates recently made some beautiful new outfits for children in their community. The children were so happy to receive their new clothes. For many, it was the first new outfit they've ever received. Here's a few of them modeling their new clothes. The smiles say it all!

Special thank you to our generous donors who made this possible.

Meet our New Student, Camille

Camille is a new student in the Mole St. Nicolas sewing class.

One of our students in the Mole St. Nicolas class had to drop the class, so Camille was able to take his place. She is 20 years old, and very excited to be in the program. She wants to learn how to sew so she can make money to take care of herself.

We have 11 students, including Camille, who currently need sponsors. One-time and monthly sponsorships are available starting at just $15. The sponsorship helps pay for their teachers' salaries and supplies for the program.

Acing their exams

The Mole St. Nicolas sewing students recently took theoretical and practical exams. The written exam (photo above) tested their knowledge of sewing, and consisted of multiple choice, true/false, and short answer questions. The students made skirts for the hands-on practical exam. Overall, the students did very well and Professor Vilsaint is pleased with their progress.
