It is with a heavy heart that we ask for prayers for our mission partner, Waves of Mercy and their children's mission, Northwest Haiti Christian Mission. The ship carrying all of the supplies for Waves of Mercy and Northwest Haiti Christian Mission sunk due to Hurricane Joaquin. The crew was airlifted to safety, but there was thousands of dollars worth of supplies on that ship - Christmas presents for the kids, food, clothing, school supplies, musical instruments for the church, and so much more. This is a devastating loss. They're still taking inventory of what exactly was lost and formulating a plan of how to move forward. We'll post more info as we have it for those who'd like to donate. Thank you for praying.

10/3/2015 Follow-up

As a follow-up to our post yesterday about the cargo ship sinking, here's the plan from Wave of Mercy, and ways to donate."You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." 1 John 4:4. Amen. To God be the Glory!

From Waves of Mercy:

Bless The Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name. He hath done great things! He hath done great things! He hath done great things, bless His Holy Name. The Lord and I had a powerful talk last night. I mostly listened. A tragedy is when a young man of 45 leaves a wife and four beautiful children due to leukemia . A tragedy is to see all the beautiful children on Facebook fighting just to stay alive.

What happened when that ship sank was not a tragedy. These items can be replaced and God can be Glorified thru this. I already have heard how Satan made this happen. It is show and tell time once again in Haiti! My Jesus is more powerful than Satan! So I want to use this problem as a tool to once again pound the drums for I John 4:4. I am trying to get a flight out to Kentucky either today or tomorrow. I want to contact some churches and individuals to begin collecting items. I need the Jamestown Kentucky boys to make me some crates. We will take another truck to Miami the first of December. We will need shipping money and just money to buy certain items as well! If you would like to give go tohttp://dev.iflandvisuals.com/wavesofmercy/donate/. Others may prefer to write a check and send to Waves of mercy , P O Box 516, Versailles,Ky 40383. I love your encouragement and your prayers have blessed our souls! Thank you sweet friends for loving us.

They're learning so much!

Fall-Progress-Report.jpg

I am excited to share these photos with you, because they demonstrate how lives are truly changing for our sewing students in Port-de-Paix. Classes started on June 29, and just look at everything they have made this summer! When the students started, they didn't know how to sew, but now they're sewing skirts, blouses, and t-shirts. They are making great progress in learning how to sew, and they are really enjoying the class. One of the best parts about this program is that sewing is a valuable skill that they'll have for the rest of their lives. I will be traveling back to Haiti in October. I am excited to meet our students and teachers in person, and look forward to sharing more photos and stories with you.
