Thanksgiving Refections

This Thanksgiving, we're reflecting on all the ways the Lord has blessed the ministry and the students this year.

Despite the challenges in Haiti, the students continue to excel. At this time last year, the students were just learning how to sew. Today, they know how to make a variety of girls' and women's clothes, and now they're learning how to make boys' and men's pants and shirts. Many students are already earning money from their new trade.

The Lord has blessed us with supporters like you from across the United States and even Canada and England. We can't tell you how encouraging this is to our students and staff. We are truly thankful for your prayers and continued support.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Using their talent to help others

Earlier this year, the Mole St. Nicolas sewing students made dresses for the girls living in the campus orphanage. The girls loved their new dresses, and the boys were asking when the students were going to make something for them.

Well the wait is over! For the past two months, the Mole sewing students have been learning how to make boys' clothes, and they made white dress shirts for all the boys in the orphanage. The shirts were a big hit!

We love seeing the students helping children in their community. Your continued support of the sewing students makes special moments like this possible.

Pray for Haiti

We're asking all of our friends to once again pray for Haiti. There's been a lot of civil unrest in and around the larger cities, and it's having a ripple effect throughout the country.

Our Port-de-Paix sewing school has been closed this week, because of the protests and roadblocks in Port-de-Paix. Traveling to the school right now is too dangerous for our students and staff. There are rumors of more protests next week.

The Mole is fairly peaceful, but due to the gas crisis, the electric company has stopped the normal electric supply so our students have been without power. Unfortunately, many of their sewing machines require power, although we do have a few treadles. We're prepared to purchase more treadle sewing machines, so power won't be an issue in the future, but the roadblocks throughout the country are making it impossible for us to travel to get the machines.

Please join us in praying for this nation and the people who live there. Thank you for your continued support.

"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16
