The crates have arrived

We’re excited to announce that our annual sewing supplies shipment has arrived safely in Port-de-Paix and Mole St. Nicolas, Haiti! Both classes unpacked their crates this past week, and they loved seeing all of the beautiful fabric and sewing supplies that was generously donated.

Special thank you to everyone who donated, and who volunteered their time to help pack supplies. It’s no small task getting everything packed and sent down to Haiti. We’re grateful for your continued support.

Here’s a few pictures from the Mole St. Nicolas and Port-de-Paix crate unpackings. Just look at their smiles!

Our largest fundraiser of the year

We're just days away from our largest fundraiser of the year - Give for Good Louisville!

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise an amazing $11,172 in a single day last year. This year, we hope to raise even more!

Here's how you can help:

We need a minimum of 90 people to donate $10 or more on Thursday, Sept. 17. If we reach 90 donors, we'll get a share of a $126,000 bonus pool!

In addition to this bonus pool, there's also an additional $50,000 in match money available for Southern Indiana-based non-profits, like us.

This is a 100% virtual event, and you do not have to live in the Louisville-area to participate. In fact, there's a $1,000 bonus that will go to the non-profit that gets donations from the most states.

Please consider donating on this special day, and spreading the word to your family and friends. It only takes a few minutes. The money raised will go toward student sponsorships and sewing supplies for the programs.

All donations must be submitted online through the special button below on Thursday, Sept. 17. The event lasts one full day - from 12:00am - 11:59pm on Sept. 17.

Storage bags for shipping

Storage bags for shipping

We're in need of new or gently-used plastic storage bags. We're going to use these to pack fabric and other sewing supplies on the cargo ship, and they'll also be used in the classroom for storage. We generally pack our sewing supplies in crates when we ship, and putting the fabric and supplies in these bags will ensure that they stay clean and dry.

We can use vacuum storage bags or heavy duty vinyl storage bags (like the ones comforters and sheets come in). Both of these items are available on Amazon, and many other retailers. If you are interested in purchasing some for us and having them shipped directly to us (or donating some), please contact us so we can give you our shipping address. We're also accepting donations toward the purchase of these bags. Please write "storage bags" in the notes of the online donation, or on the memo line of any checks.
