“My life has changed because now I have a skill so I can earn money.”
This is what Johnson, a student in our Waves of Mercy sewing program, told me when I visited his class in September. When Johnson joined the sewing program in June 2015, he had no idea how to use a sewing machine. Today, he’s making school uniforms for children in the community.
That is the power of opportunity!
Opportunity is not universal, but we’re changing that. Thanks to our supporters, students like Johnson have opportunities to learn valuable trades that can lead to more promising, brighter futures.
